The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed multiple academic disciplines, including historical research. Traditionally dependent upon archival exploration, textual analysis, and interpretative methodologies, history as a discipline is increasingly incorporating digital technologies to enhance research efficiency and analytical depth. This research article examines the role of AI in historical research by using the historical method framework. It investigates how AI tools assist in source analysis, pattern recognition, archival digitization, linguistic reconstruction, predictive modelling, and historiographical interpretation. The present paper evaluates both opportunities and limitations, including concerns related to algorithmic bias, authenticity, and ethical implications. By applying systematic research methodology, the paper highlights the transformative yet cautious integration of AI in historiography. The research concludes that AI serves not as a replacement for historians but as a collaborative tool that enhances analytical precision, accessibility, and interdisciplinary research.
