This study aims to explore in depth the strategies used to improve speaking skills of elementary school learners of English. Speaking is considered one of the most challenging skills to master, particularly at an early age when learners are still developing their cognitive and communicative competencies. This paper analyzes the most common barriers to spoken language development, including anxiety, limited vocabulary, insufficient exposure to the target language, and the lack of meaningful practice opportunities, all of which are supported by statistical results drawn from multiple studies conducted in diverse educational settings. The paper also discusses up-to-date teaching methods such as communicative language teaching (CLT), task-based learning (TBL), cooperative learning strategies, and the integration of educational technology. Studies indicate that well-designed interactive environments can improve speaking performance by as much as 50%. The conclusion is that fluency is developed through regular exposure, emotional support, positive reinforcement, and sustained practical engagement with the language.
