This presentation summarises key experiences and lessons learned from the European research infrastructure projects ERIGrid, ERIGrid 2.0, and RISEnergy, focusing on support for smart energy systems and cyber-physical energy systems. It highlights achievements in transnational and virtual access, advanced testing tools, and user engagement, as well as the importance of digitalisation and international collaboration. Key challenges and recommendations for future research infrastructures are also discussed.
