This article examines the economic significance of cultural tourism in Uzbekistan and analyzes the role of historical monuments in promoting sustainable tourism development. Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, ancient Silk Road cities, and unique architectural monuments create strong opportunities for attracting international and domestic tourists. The study highlights the contribution of cultural tourism to economic growth, employment generation, infrastructure development, and international recognition of Uzbekistan. Particular attention is given to the historical cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva as major centers of heritage tourism. The article also discusses government reforms in the tourism sector, the preservation of historical monuments, and existing challenges related to sustainable tourism management and heritage conservation.
