The article explores the potential of the vocational education system as an element of the regional innovation infrastructure. The main problems and barriers hindering the integration of vocational education into the innovation economy are analyzed, and ways to overcome them are proposed. Based on the Triple Helix model of innovation development, a concept for integrating vocational education into the regional economy is presented, aimed at strengthening the interaction between the government, business, and the education system. The study concludes that it is necessary to reconsider the role of vocational education in the innovation infrastructure, which implies the creation of hybrid institutions, the development of network interaction, and improving the efficiency of workforce training for high-tech industries.
