The evaluation consisted of the excavation of 9no. 30m trial trenches at 1.8m wide (a total of 270 linear metres), which equated to a 4% sample evaluation of the 1.25ha site. In the central northern part of the site, the evaluation encountered the remains of a probable field system or other agricultural ditch system, consisting of four small ditches. There was no artefactual material in the excavated fills of the ditches, but they were sealed by the subsoil and their alignment differed from that of the modern site boundaries, which are of probable post-medieval origin, suggesting that they are medieval or earlier in date. A small pit was also investigated, which contained two sherds of prehistoric pottery. Several other features were also investigated, but these were determined to be of natural origin. There were no archaeological features in the western, eastern or southern parts of the site.
