• The study group scored higher on the self-care ability evaluation scale (ASAS-R-C) than the control group after the intervention (P<0.05).
• All dimensions and total scores of the self-reported health behavior ability scale (SRAHP) in the study group were superior to those in the control group post-intervention (P<0.05).
