A standing structure survey was undertaken on behalf of Tideway for a level 1 record at Acton Pumping Station. The 1970's screen house, north-western gantry, penstocks and a hydraulic valve was recorded, as well as a late 19th/early 20th century penstock, a late 19th century granite sett road and historic brickwork. The non-designated heritage assets were recorded to a level 1 Historic England record. The Acton Storm Tanks were recorded by means of photography and onsite notes through visual observation. The machinery and other historic elements were recorded according to the Level 1 standards set by English Heritage in the guidance document Understanding Historic Buildings: A guide to good recording practice.
