Abstract

Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Knox McConnell Architects to undertake a building survey and a programme of archaeological test pitting and monitoring at St Peter ad Vincula Church in Bottesford, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire in support of an application to the Diocese of Lincoln for a programme of redevelopment. The excavation of trial pit 3 inside the church confirmed the presence of burials, exposing two articulated skeletons and a deposit of commingled skeletal remains.
