Approximately 6ha of magnetometer survey was undertaken at Fairnley Farm, Wallington, Northumberland prior to proposed hedge planting. Possible soil-filled archaeological features, perhaps representing the remains of ditches and other features, have been identified in the northern part of H10. Further possible ditches have been detected in H10, H14 and H15. Former ridge and furrow cultivation, much of which survives as earthworks across the surveyed areas, has been detected. A former field boundary and a former track have been detected, both of which are shown on historic Ordnance Survey editions. Possible areas of disturbed ground have been detected. Probable geological variation has been identified. Services and land drains have been detected.
