INTRODUCTION: The fast-dissolving oral films (FDOFs), which are put in the mouth andmelt quickly, releasing the drug and improving oral absorption. Because of its well-knownanalgesic and anti-inflammatory qualities, moringa oleifera extract has been used to treatconditions including rheumatoid arthritis. At modest dosages, the extract has also been shownto be beneficial as an anti-inflammatory drug and pain reliever. However, published researchon the effects of utilising Moringa oleifera extract as FDOFs to treat osteoarthritis is lacking.METHODOLOGY: Using the standard Box-Behnken design protocol to optimise theformulations, about 14 formulations were created using the solvent casting technique. Thedependent variables were the folding endurance and disintegration time, while the independentvariables were the natural film formers, synthetic polymer, super disintegrants, and plasticiser.RESULTS: The extract was produced as a dark green powder with yield of 1.68%. Theoptimised oral dissolving films of Moringa oleifera extract with Xanthan gum, HPMC(polymers), propylene glycol, PEG 400 (co-solvents), and croscarmellose sodium producedsteady and uniform results with the desired formulation phenomena, according to the 3Dcontour plots and response curves created with Design Expert.CONCLUSION: Fast dissolving forms of oral films containing Moringa oleifera extractsuggested fast onset of effects and minimum adverse effects. The rapid drug release in plasmais observed. The in vitro research of an FDOF of the Moringa oleifera extract also suggestedto be a promising medication model.
