The following document represents the Framework for Training and Education, developed as part of Work Package 3 Expanding the Foundations of Civic Competence Education. The framework focuses on the implementation of innovative civic competence workshops in secondary schools and outlines the main pedagogical principles, methodologies, and practical approaches guiding the activities. The main aim of the framework is to provide clear guidelines and methodologies for educators and civic education practitioners working with secondary school students on issues related to democratic participation, civic competences, and active citizenship. The framework serves as a practical reference point for the implementation of workshops in Estonia and Italy, while also ensuring that the methodologies can be adapted and applied across different European contexts. The document is grounded in the principles of non-formal education, engaged pedagogy, and the Reciprocal Maieutic Approach, combining theoretical reflection with hands-on and participatory learning methods. The following document has been developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ project Strengthening Civic Competences and EU Democratic Life (EuroConnect), implemented jointly by the University of Tartu, the University of Göttingen, the University of Siena, and the Centre for Creative Development “Danilo Dolci”.
