This report begins by exploring the approaches used in policy analysis and proceeds to apply the different policy analysis models in analysing and unravelling the design, appropriateness of the Sports Policy in tackling the challenge of NCDs in South Africa. Also identified are the gaps inherent in the policy and various strategic plans developed for the implementation of the policy. Before discussing the policy analysis frameworks and analysing the sports policy, the report lays out the current state of NCDs using a number of data sources. The report concludes by recapitulating the key points emerging from the discussion of NCD policy analysis in South Africa.
