Chhattisgarh, a state characterized by an intricate socio-ecological matrix comprising dense forest ecosystems, rich mineral deposits, and a significant indigenous (tribal) population, stands at a critical juncture in its developmental trajectory. This paper evaluates the intersection of subnational climate change policies and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the state. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach—combining structural policy analysis of the Chhattisgarh State Action Plan on Climate Change (CSAPCC) with secondary data from the NITI Aayog SDG India Index (2023–24) and State Planning Commission progress reports—this study examines how effectively the state has harmonized climate resilience with inclusive economic growth.
