An international emphasis is basic to effective Extension programs.This article discusses why and what can be done to implement such an emphasis.An international dimension is basic to effective Extension programs.Not secondary.Not a luxury.Not an afterthought.Not an add-on.But basic.An international dimension is basic to Extension because the future of American agriculture is inextricably linked to international markets and world development.United States agricultural exports increased fivefold in value from 1971 to 1981 and more than doubled in physical volume.
