ABSTRACT Gabapentin is an antiepileptic drug that is approved for the treatment of seizures and neuropathic pain. It is also used off-label to treat other medical and psychiatric conditions. It is considered safe and well tolerated, with a low potential for misuse or withdrawal. In this case report, we present an unusual case of a previously healthy woman who developed severe psychiatric and physical symptoms, including suicidal ideation, following the abrupt discontinuation of 300 mg/day of Gabapentin after a short 3-week course.
