This work describes the selection of the optimal heat treatment for enhancing the mechanical properties of American Iron and Steel Institute ( AISI) 1018 and 1045 steels. It covers the experimental part (application of heat treatment) and laboratory analysis (metallography process). The results obtained of the selected heat treatments are presented, along with a comparative evaluation both microstructurally (before and after heat treatment) and through simulation studies in SolidWorks software on the increased properties of each steel subjected to the working loads it will undergo. The study aims to analyze the real‐world application of a mechanical component, in this case, the design of blades. The increases in mechanical properties, most efficient methods, and most relevant data obtained through this research are mentioned, which can be applied in future works.
