Environmental sustainability has become one of the most significant global concerns in the twenty-first century, requiring immediate educational intervention for creating environmentally responsible citizens. Green school leadership plays a vital role in integrating environmental science into school education through curriculum development, eco-friendly campus management, and community-based environmental practices. The present study explores the importance of green school leadership in promoting sustainable education and environmental awareness among students, teachers, and local communities. The study adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach based on secondary data collected from educational policies, research articles, environmental reports, and scholarly literature. Findings reveal that effective green school leadership encourages environmental literacy, sustainable campus practices, waste management, biodiversity conservation, energy efficiency, and active community participation in environmental activities. The study also highlights that integration of environmental science into classroom teaching and co-curricular activities enhances students’ ecological consciousness, critical thinking, and responsible citizenship. However, challenges such as lack of infrastructure, insufficient environmental training, limited financial support, and inadequate policy implementation continue to affect the development of green schools. The study concludes that collaborative leadership, environmental education, institutional commitment, and community engagement are essential for creating sustainable and environmentally responsible educational institutions.
