Air pollution has emerged as a critical environmental concern in Indian cities, with particulate matter (PM10and PM2.5) being among the most significant pollutants. Very Poor to severe polluted Cities are Agartala,Angul, Araria, Asansol, Bahadurgarh, Barrackpore, Bhiwani, Bulandshahr, Buxar, Byrnihat, Chandigarh,CharkhiDadri, Churu, Delhi, Dhanbad, Dholpur, Durgapur, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurugram,Gwalior, Hajipur, Haldia, Hanumangarh, Howrah, Jhunjhunu, Khurja, Kota, Meerut, Noida, Pali, Rohtak,Saharsa, Sasaram, Sonipat, Sri Ganganagar, Talcher, and Tonk. These fine particles pose severe health risks, including respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological disorders, while also contributing to environmentaldegradation. This study examines the levels of PM10 and PM2.5 in major Indian cities, and associated healthimpacts. Furthermore, it explores existing and emerging emission control technologies, Cyclones, Wetexcavators and electrostatic precipitator (ESP). The findings emphasize the need for robust implementation ofpollution control measures and public awareness campaigns to mitigate the adverse effects of air pollution onhuman health and the environment. In-depth data of polluted cities has been studied for 19 days from theonline site of CPCB in India.
