This presentation was delivered as part of the IReL PID Community Webinar on 21 May 2026. It introduces the DataCite Metadata Dashboard and shows how organizations can use it to assess the quality and completeness of their DOI metadata. The slides provide an overview of recent DataCite community and roadmap updates, DataCite services, the DataCite Metadata Schema, and new features introduced in Schema 4.7. The presentation also includes a demonstration of the DataCite Metadata Dashboard using Maynooth University and the Irish DataCite Consortium as examples, showing how users can navigate between consortium, consortium organization, and repository-level views; review metadata completeness for major properties and selected sub-properties; and filter records by resource type. The presentation further explains how DataCite metadata is created, processed, made openly available, discovered, harvested, and reused through services such as DataCite Commons, the DataCite REST API, OAI-PMH, the Public Data File, the Monthly Data File, and content negotiation. A recording of this presentation is available on the DataCite YouTube channel.
