This research includes a collection of the sayings of scholars regarding the narrator (Salam bin Abi Muti) in general، and in his narration on the authority of Qatada in particular. Then he collected his narrations on the authority of Qatada in the Sunnah of the Prophet، studying and criticizing them، and explaining what was followed in them from what was unique. In order to accurately reach his status in al-Jarh wa al-Ta'deel and in his narration on the authority of Qatada in particular، the research consisted of an introduction and two sections. In the introduction، I spoke about the importance of the research، its objectives، its limits، and my methodology in it. In the first section، I spoke about: introducing the narrator، and the scholars’ sayings about it، and about it. Two requirements: The first requirement: Introducing the narrator Salam bin Abi Muti’. The second requirement: The scholars’ sayings about him. The second topic: His narrations on the authority of Qatada in the Sunnah of the Prophet. It contains two requirements. The first requirement: What was narrated in it on the authority of Qatada. The second requirement: What he narrated on the authority of Qatada alone، and a conclusion mentioned. It contains the most important findings، the most important of which is that he is trustworthy in Qatada and others، and that most of his narrations on the authority of Qatada have been attributed to them، and what he narrated alone. It is based on the one who narrated it from him، except in two hadiths.
