This publication constitutes the original description of Latiaxis nippooleifera Chino, 2014 and includes the diagnosis, type material, type locality, comparative remarks, and photographic plates. The work is taxonomically relevant to Muricidae: Coralliophilinae, particularly Latiaxis and related Babelomurex taxa from the southwest Pacific.
