Al-Aqshari was one of the leading figures of the Maturidi school in his time. He addressed the theological issues that were the subject of heated debate with the philosophers, the Mu’tazilites and other dissenting sects. Among his most prominent objections to those who held dissenting views were those concerning the speech of God Almighty and the issue of creation, both of which are considered to be among the essential attributes of God Almighty . Through a reading of the book as a whole, I wished to examine, in a simple sequential study, two issues relating to the intrinsic positive attributes of the Almighty. I therefore selected the attributes of ‘speech’ and ‘creation’, and outlined the issues on which al-Aqshari debated the dissenters by dividing the study into two sections. The first section a presentation of his personal and academic background; and the second section dealt with a review of the arguments of those who hold opposing views regarding the attribute of the Speech of God Almighty and the attribute of Creation. I then outlined Al-Aqshari’s most significant objections to their beliefs concerning these attributes, and concluded the study with a conclusion and a list of sources.
