Aesthetic education plays a vital role in the holistic development of Chinese adolescents. To explore recent developments and emerging insights into adolescent aesthetic education in China, this study used the literature visualization tool CiteSpace to conduct a burst-detection analysis of 240 authoritative CNKI publications that were published within the past five years and selected according to PRISMA guidelines. The analysis shows that School Aesthetic Education, Social Aesthetic Education, Ideological and Political Education, Traditional and Cultural Education, Aesthetic Education Evaluation, and Aesthetic Education Integrating Digital Technology are the six highlighted key aspects. The research reveals four emerging insights: (1) the paradigm shift to AETAS; (2) the development of the Social-School Aesthetic Education Community; (3) the evolved political function integrating aesthetics; and (4) the digital transformation of pedagogical models.
