Research Title: Abu Hatim al-Razi's Critical Evaluations of al-Bukhari's Assessments of Hadith Narrators in Kitāb Al-Jarḥ Wa-Al-Taʻdīl Li-Ibn Abī Ḥātim. Study Objective: To identify the hadith Narrators whose evaluations Abu Hatim contested against al-Bukhari's judgments، to ascertain the underlying causes of his critiques، and to elucidate the pronouncements of Al-Jarḥ Wa-Al-Taʻdīl authorities concerning these disputed Narrators. Research Problem: Abu Hatim leveled critical evaluations against al-Bukhari concerning a number of hadith Narrators. What is their precise number? What are the methodological grounds for his critiques? What are the assessments of Al-Jarḥ Wa-Al-Taʻdīl scholars regarding these Narrators? Did al-Bukhari include traditions narrated by any of them in his works? Research Methodology: This study adopts an inductive-analytical descriptive approach in systematically compiling Abu Hatim's critical evaluations of al-Bukhari's judgments and providing scholarly responses to these critiques. Findings: •Abu Hatim contested al-Bukhari's assessments of 35 hadith Narrators. •Abu Hatim's critical evaluations of al-Bukhari were subject to scholarly contestation and were not universally accepted. •Several Narrators whom Abu Hatim critiqued in al-Bukhari's assessments are authenticated narrators in both Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim، or in one of the two canonical collections. •Certain Narrators whom Abu Hatim critiqued in al-Bukhari's assessments appear in al-Bukhari's other works outside his Sahih collection. •Abu Hatim's critique of al-Bukhari included cases where al-Bukhari weakened certain Narrators based on the reliability of those who transmitted from them (i.e.، secondary authentication criteria). Recommendations: •The imperative need to investigate and critically analyze scholarly disagreements and critical evaluations among hadith authorities
