The present study examines the role of digital media in shaping aspirational culture and perceptions of social mobility among Indian middle-class youth. In the contemporary digital era, social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn have become significant sources of information, communication, and lifestyle influence. The study aims to analyze how digital media exposure affects youth aspirations, career goals, lifestyle choices, and socio-economic expectations. It also explores the relationship between online engagement and perceptions of upward social mobility. The study is descriptive and analytical in nature and is based on both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected from 300 respondents through structured questionnaires and informal interviews. The findings reveal that digital media positively influences educational awareness, career aspirations, skill development, and entrepreneurial thinking among middle-class youth. However, excessive exposure to influencer culture and idealized lifestyles also creates challenges such as social comparison, unrealistic expectations, mental stress, and digital addiction. The study concludes that digital media acts as both an opportunity and a challenge for youth development. Balanced and responsible use of digital platforms is essential for promoting healthy aspirations, inclusive social mobility, and sustainable socio-economic progress among Indian youth.
