To maintain a sustainable living it is very much essential to keep the Environment and its natural resources in their prevailing factors. However, the existing natural calamities as well as pollution, changes in weather patterns, and global warming are the recurrent issues led by the Anthropocene behaviours worldwide. To protect the resources and the natural environment has thus become an urgent requirement for sustainability. The state Odisha is famously recognized for its natural beauty, cultural diversity, art and music. The folkloric traditions of the state are adorned with various traditional rituals, vibrant arts, oral traditions, and folk performances. The rituals performed in the state is rooted in the idea of sustainable models. The present study seeks to examine the existing ritualistic traditions and folklore as sustainable models in the Anthropocene age. the folklores are the epitome of the strong symbiotic relationship among the human and the environment. The paper will incorporate an interdisciplinary approach by utilizing the ethnographic as well as ecocritical study. The investigation of regional traditions and customs will further assist to explore the ecological perspective of day-to-day lives instead of acting as a symbol. Attention will be given to the embodied dimensions of rituals and their capacity to sustain environmental knowledge across generations. The work will contribute to environmental humanities by placing indigenous knowledge at the centre of climate discourse. The findings will highlight that folklore provides not only cultural insight, but also practical application for living sustainably in a time of ecological uncertainty. Thus, this paper will make a noteworthy contribution towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations.
