The theme of World Immunization Week 2026 is “For every generation, vaccines work”. This reminds us of a powerful truth—vaccines have long been one of the most cost-effective tools in public health. In the last 50 years, vaccines have saved more than 150 million lives and prevented more than 30 life-threatening diseases and infections.1,2
