Menstrual hygiene is an important aspect of women’s health. However, due to lack of awareness and social taboos, many girls do not follow proper hygiene practices during menstruation. The present study was carried out to assess the level of awareness and hygiene practices related to menstruation among female college students. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted to collect information regarding knowledge about menstruation, menstrual products used, hygiene practices, and sources of information. Menstrual hygiene is a critical aspect of women's health, yet it remains a neglected topic in many parts of India. This study aims to assess the awareness and practices of menstrual hygiene among female college students. Results show that while most students had basic knowledge about menstruation, there were significant gaps in practices, particularly regarding the use of sanitary products and disposal methods. The findings suggest that most students were aware of basic menstrual hygiene practices and commonly used sanitary pads. However, differences were observed in the frequency of changing pads and the methods of disposal. The study highlights the need for continuous awareness and health education programs to promote safe menstrual hygiene practices among young women.
