This article offers a historical and social analysis of the state and law in Morocco. It approaches the state phenomenon through theoretical debates on the emergence of the state, the relationship between economy and political autonomy, and the historical formation of state power. The article then applies these questions to Morocco, examining the links between nation, state, capitalism, ideology, and legal structures. It presents the problem of law as inseparable from social history and the development of state authority.
