Abstract Purpose: The increasing global focus on environmental challenges has prompted organizations to integrate sustainable practices, driven by both regulatory compliance and the pursuit of competitive advantage. In response, Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) has emerged as a pivotal approach to align HR functions with sustainability objectives and to promote environmentally responsible behavior among employees. This paper aims to systematically review the existing literature on the relationship between Green HRM and Employee Green Behaviour. Design/methodology/approach: This study undertakes a comprehensive review of 55 empirical quantitative studies published between 2011 and 2024, focusing on the nexus between Green HRM practices and green employee behavior. The analysis identifies key theoretical frameworks and mediator-moderator models that explain this relationship. Findings: The review uncovers various theoretical perspectives that have been employed to examine Green HRM's influence on employee behavior. Additionally, the study highlights the diverse mediators and moderators that have been explored within this body of literature. Originality/value: This paper represents the first comprehensive review of the connection between Green HRM and Employee Green Behavior. By synthesizing empirical evidence, it outlines significant implications for both researchers and practitioners and proposes a comprehensive agenda for future research in this evolving field.
