Mohamad Mostafa delivered an overview of DataCite, its global community, and services, highlighting how persistent identifiers (PIDs) and open metadata can enhance the visibility, accessibility, and discoverability of African scholarship and national library collections. He also shared use cases from national libraries within the DataCite community, demonstrating how DataCite’s PID infrastructure supports research discovery, knowledge dissemination, and the development of trusted open research infrastructure. This presentation was delivered in person at the African National Libraries Forum, hosted by the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM) in Rabat, Morocco, from 10–11 June 2026.
