Education has always been a foundation of human progress and development, serving as a basis for expanding knowledge, enhancing skills, and promoting societal growth. From the earliest days of humanity to the complex education systems of today, the essence of education has remained central to human civilization. Although the main goal of education is the holistic development of individuals so they can lead meaningful lives and contribute to the progress of society, the institutions are continually seeking ways to enhance student outcomes while optimising operational efficiency. 1 ERP software has emerged as a game-changer, revolutionising the way schools and colleges manage their academic and administrative tasks. According to the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), technology and digital systems play an important role in improving governance, transparency, and efficiency in educational institutions. While the policy may not always use the term ERP directly, it strongly encourages technology-enabled management systems such as ERP for administration and academic management. One of the major roles of ERP as per NEP 2020 among Efficient Institutional Administration, Support for Multidisciplinary and Flexible Curriculum, Continuous Assessment and Evaluation, Student Progress Monitoring, Multiple Entry and Exit System, Better Communication and Collaboration, Data-Driven Decision Making, is Digital transformation of education. 2 This paper aims to study and define the process of Digital transformation in Higher Education in terms of The role of ERP systems in administrative efficiency.
