Alder Archaeology Limited was commissioned to undertake an Archaeological Watching Brief on the area of a 5m x 5m kitchen extension to an existing chalet at Loch Monzievaird Chalets, Ochtertyre, about 3 km NW of Crieff. The work was carried out to investigate the potential for buried archaeological deposits in the area, as a 17th C plague burial ground is marked slightly to the NW on first edition (1863) map of the site. Previous watching briefs NW of the current site located a buried stone slab. The archaeological works were carried out on 22nd August 2023 in dry conditions following rain. No archaeological deposits were noted within the watching brief area.
