Digital transformation has become a key driver of growth, competitiveness, and sustainability for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the modern business environment. Rapid advancements in digital technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, e-commerce platforms, digital payment systems, and fintech solutions have significantly transformed traditional business operations. This study examines the opportunities and challenges associated with digital transformation in MSMEs, with a focus on how digital adoption improves operational efficiency, market access, customer engagement, financial inclusion, and overall business productivity. The study identifies several opportunities arising from digital transformation, including cost reduction through automation, improved supply chain management, enhanced access to wider markets through online platforms, and better decision-making through data analytics. Digital tools also help MSMEs strengthen customer relationships and increase competitiveness in both domestic and global markets. However, the transformation process also presents various challenges. MSMEs often face barriers such as limited digital literacy, inadequate technological infrastructure, financial constraints, cyber security risks, and resistance to organizational change. High implementation costs and lack of skilled manpower further slow down the adoption process. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach based on secondary data and literature review. The findings suggest that effective policy support, digital skill development, and technological awareness are essential to enable MSMEs to successfully leverage digital transformation for sustainable growth.
