The rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has significantly transformed the functioning of modern governments. One of the most important areas where digital transformation has taken place is taxation. Digital taxation systems allow governments to manage tax administration through online platforms, electronic filing systems, and automated data processing. These systems improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in tax administration. E-Governance refers to the use of digital technology by governments to provide public services, exchange information, and improve interaction between government and citizens. In recent years, many countries including India have adopted digital governance mechanisms to simplify tax compliance and enhance public service delivery. The implementation of systems such as online tax filing, Goods and Services Tax (GST) portals, and digital payment methods has transformed the traditional taxation process. This research paper examines the concept of digital taxation systems and e-governance, analyses the transition from traditional taxation systems to modern digital frameworks, and evaluates the benefits of digital taxation in improving government efficiency and transparency.
