This paper explores the ongoing decline of political morality in contemporary India and examines it through the ancient Indian text Shukraniti. The Indian political system has adopted the traits of the Western political system and moved away from its roots. Challenges like corruption, crimes against women, criminal charges against elected leaders, and other malpractice to gain votes have grown in the Indian system, and they erode political morality. In such kind of darkness, Shukraniti can help us to provide a path for our future. Shukraniti focuses on righteousness, accountability of leaders, justice, ethical conduct, welfare of people, etc. The study identifies the critical gaps and provides insights into how ancient wisdom can offer remedies for modern political ailments.
