Abstract The Republic of Buryatia is located within the influence zone of Lake Baikal, the largest freshwater lake in the world, which underscores the importance of conserving the region’s biodiversity. This study presents new data on vascular plant invader species in Buryatia: two species are recorded for the first time, and three new localities of rare species have also been identified. The invasive potential of these species was assessed through distribution modeling using bioclimatic variables, analysis of biological traits, and documented cases of invasion. The results indicate a high invasive potential of Cuscuta chinensis and Solanum nigrum, demanding increased attention from conservation authorities.
