Abstract Presents information on accounting systems scholarship. Information that one of the most encouraging academic trend in recent years has been the reexamination of the general notion of "scholarship"; Reference to the book titled "Scholarship Reconsidered: Priorities of the Professoriate," by Ernest L. Boyer; Opinion that it will be worthwhile to examine some of the basic ideas of the book in an effort to explore how evaluation schemes might be tailored for accounting information system professors in a manner that would benefit both accounting departments and individual scholars; Report that the scholarship of discovery and the scholarship of integration comprise activities which commonly lead to publishable output in refereed academic journals.
