Mootrakrucchra is a pathological condition of the Mutravaha Srotas characterized by painful and difficult urination. Classical Ayurvedic texts describe this disorder in detail and classify it into multiple types based on Dosha predominance.1-5 The disease primarily involves the Basti, one of the vital organs (Trimarma), emphasizing its clinical importance.2 The symptomatology of Mootrakrucchra shows significant similarity with lower urinary tract infections (UTIs) described in modern medicine.7,8 This review aims to correlate the Ayurvedic understanding of Mootrakrucchra with the contemporary concept of UTIs.
