Objectives: This study aimed to explore the perceptions of teachers trained in implementing the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) approach regarding its influence on students’ engagement with the school environment in schools across the northern governorates. SEL is considered a contemporary educational approach that enhances classroom interaction and strengthens the overall school climate by developing emotional and social competencies among students and teachers. Methods: A mixed-methods design was utilized, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. A structured questionnaire was administered to a sample of 115 teachers, while qualitative interviews were conducted with a purposive sample of 10 teachers to deepen the understanding of the study’s results. Results: The quantitative findings indicated that SEL implementation had a high impact on students’ classroom engagement (M = 4.12), enhancement of the learning environment (M = 4.10), and improvement of teacher–student relationships (M = 4.22). The qualitative interviews supported these findings, as teachers reported noticeable improvements in classroom climate and social interaction between students and teachers. Additionally, no statistically significant differences were detected based on gender, academic degree, or years of experience. Conclusion: Teachers trained in SEL perceived the approach as highly effective in enhancing student engagement and improving the overall school environment. The study highlights the need for the systematic integration of SEL strategies into daily classroom practices, continued professional development programs, and structured training resources to ensure the effective and sustainable application of this educational approach in schools. :الهدف: هدفت الدراسة إلى استكشاف تصورات المعلمين المدربين على توظيف منحى التعلّم العاطفي الاجتماعي (SEL) حول تأثيره في تفاعل الطلبة مع البيئة المدرسية في مدارس المحافظات الشمالية. ويُعدّ التعلّم العاطفي الاجتماعي من الاتجاهات التربوية الحديثة التي تسهم في تحسين التفاعل الصفي وتعزيز المناخ المدرسي من خلال تنمية المهارات العاطفية والاجتماعية لدى الطلبة والمعلمين. المنهجية: استخدمت الدراسة منهجًا مختلطًا يجمع بين الأسلوبين الكمي والنوعي؛ إذ تم تطبيق استبانة على عينة مكوّنة من 115 معلماً ومعلمة، كما أُجريت مقابلات نوعية مع عينة قصدية مكوّنة من 10 معلمين ومعلمات بهدف تعميق الفهم حول نتائج الدراسة. النتائج: أظهرت النتائج الكمية أن تطبيق منحى التعلّم العاطفي الاجتماعي كان ذا تأثير مرتفع على تفاعل الطلبة داخل الصف بمتوسط حسابي بلغ 4.12، وتعزيز البيئة التعليمية بمتوسط حسابي بلغ 4.10، وتحسين العلاقة بين المعلم والطالب بمتوسط حسابي بلغ 4.22. كما دعمت نتائج المقابلات النوعية هذه النتائج، إذ أكد المعلمون حدوث تحسّن ملحوظ في المناخ الصفي والتفاعل الاجتماعي بين الطلبة والمعلمين. ولم تُظهر النتائج فروقًا دالة إحصائيًا تُعزى إلى الجنس أو الدرجة العلمية أو سنوات الخبرة. الخلاصة: تشير تصورات المعلمين المدربين إلى أن منحى التعلّم العاطفي الاجتماعي يُعد أداة فاعلة في تعزيز تفاعل الطلبة وتحسين البيئة المدرسية. وتبرز الحاجة إلى دمج استراتيجياته بصورة منهجية في الممارسات الصفية وبرامج التنمية المهنية المستدامة، إلى جانب تطوير أدلة تدريبية داعمة وضمان استمرارية التدريب والمتابعة لتعزيز تطبيقه في المدارس.
