Abstract With digitization, various platforms of broadcast and telecommunication are coming together to provide the same services. At the heart of convergence in the telecommunications and broadcast sectors are technological advances. Technology being the process and product of cultural, physical and intellectual activities applied in the solution of human problems while aiming to cope with the environment. The spate of the technological advances has altered the paradigm. Digitization and introduction of the Internet protocol has brought about a number of ICT services and applications. This also means that such convergence will require a different regulatory regime to enable consumers to fully utilize the advantage of convergence.
