Abstract: Elizabethkingia meningoseptica , a Gram-negative, nonfermenting bacterium, has emerged as a significant nosocomial pathogen, particularly in immunocompromised and critically ill patients. The increasing recognition of this pathogen underscores its significant impact on healthcare systems and the vulnerability of specific patient populations. Effective management of E . meningoseptica requires a coordinated multidisciplinary approach encompassing advanced diagnostics, tailored antimicrobial stewardship, and rigorous infection prevention practices. This review aims to provide an overview of its clinical significance, pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, and infection control measures.
