Abstract

Australia’s offshore oil and gas industry is entering a major phase of decommissioning works, with more than 40B in expected activity over coming decades. The scale of this task reinforces the importance of a clear, consistent and fit-for-purpose regulatory framework. We examined how government and industry can work together to ensure strong environmental, safety and social outcomes and regulatory confidence.
