DBA, also requiring a WSI, for the former public house prior to application for change of use. Information was utilised from a search of the Gloucestershire Historic Environment Record. Avon Archaeology Limited were commissioned by Ryeford Specialist Services Ltd to undertake an archaeological desk-based assessment relating to the Kingsholm Inn, 8-10 Kingsholm Road, Gloucester. A planning application is intended to be made for the creation of two new bedsits to the rear of the site, with alterations to the existing flats, as well as extensions at first and second floor level. A trawl of the local authority HER for a radius of 150m around the site was undertaken specifically for the purposes of this study, and has been included as both maps, and a textual Appendix. This assessment has found that the archaeological potential of the development site as currently proposed, is likely to be moderate-high in terms of buried and in situ archaeological assets from the Roman period onwards.
