The full details of the recording methodology are outlined in the accompanying Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) written by Cornwall Archaeological Unit (Appendix 1). The WSI also includes an assessment of the potential impact of the works of the affected heritage resource. All recording work will be undertaken according to the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) guidance (2023b). Staff will follow the CIfA Code of Conduct (2019). The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists is the professional body for archaeologists working in the UK. Cornwall Archaeological Unit (CAU) was commissioned by Weaver Demolition working on behalf of Treveth LLP, to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording in the form of a watching brief, during the removal of building footings along St Clement Street and Oak Way as part of the Pydar Street redevelopment. Groundworks were carried out with an archaeologist in attendance to record any structures or features exposed during the ground disturbance. However, no archaeological remains were recorded.
