Abstract Tourism in India is closely linked with the country’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. As one of the world’s oldest civilizations, India offers a unique blend of traditions, languages, religions, art forms, and historical monuments that attract millions of tourists annually. This paper examines the relationship between tourism and Indian culture, focusing on how tourism promotes cultural exchange, economic growth, and heritage preservation. It also highlights the challenges associated with cultural commodification, environmental degradation, and loss of authenticity. The study emphasizes the need for sustainable tourism practices to maintain cultural integrity while supporting development. The findings suggest that tourism, when managed responsibly, can serve as a powerful tool for preserving and promoting Indian culture globally.
