This article investigates the pragmatic features of euphemisms in contemporary English. Particular attention is paid to the communicative functions of euphemistic expressions, including politeness, face-saving strategies, mitigation, and sociocultural adaptation. The study is based on the theoretical approaches developed in pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and discourse analysis. The findings demonstrate that euphemisms function not only as lexical substitutes but also as important pragmatic tools that facilitate successful communication and maintain social harmony.
