The technological progression and integration of smart systems into society is a progressive force that is changing the face of engineering education. This article discusses the main trends for incorporating artificial intelligence (AI), industry collaboration and partnerships, virtual lab integration, personalized learning pathways, and automation in engineering education. Through the analysis of the effects of these technologies in education, the study reveals how they support the development of problem-solving skills and provide practical experience in contemporary engineering practices during the teaching of engineering disciplines within the framework of dual education. The methods of pedagogical experiment and surveys were used to assess the effectiveness of implementing digital technologies and intelligent systems in teaching engineering disciplines, identifying possible recommendations to improve current educational programs in line with contemporary labor market trends. The evaluation criteria for the effectiveness of the implementation of digital technologies and intelligent systems in teaching engineering disciplines were developed. According to the developed criteria, the levels of knowledge formation in engineering disciplines were formed by means of digital technologies and intelligent systems. The results of the pedagogical experiment demonstrated the effectiveness of integrating digital technologies and intelligent systems in teaching engineering disciplines and their application in future professional activities. Thus, the findings suggest that greater efforts are needed to strengthen the collaboration between industry and universities and to continually update curricula to align with the evolving demands of digitalization and automation.
