Title: An Ontological Reformulation of Gravitation: The Intrinsic Proximity Framework Abstract: This paper presents an alternative ontological framework for gravitational phenomena. Departing from both the Newtonian interpretation of gravity as an action-at-a-distance force and the general relativistic interpretation as spacetime curvature, this work attributes gravity to an intrinsic proximity property inherent in all mass-energy entities, mediated exclusively by a real, physical gravitational field in flat spacetime. In static, weak-field environments, the framework retains the mathematical form of Newtonian gravity, and naturally derives the weak equivalence principle from its core postulates without treating it as an independent axiom. For dynamic and strong-field scenarios such as Mercury's perihelion precession, the constant gravitational coefficient is generalized to an effective proximity strength coefficient (Gₑff), governed by a universal response function modulated by three local parameters: gravitational field intensity (Eg), relative velocity (vᵣel), and hydrostatic pressure P. Notably, this single set of coupling mechanisms provides a unified account of both macroscopic orbital dynamics and microscopic gravitational time dilation, with no need to invoke spacetime geometry. All quantitative predictions match existing experimental and observational results in the weak-field limit as a mathematical degeneracy. The work is presented as a logically self-consistent theoretical proposal.
